Re: How to switch from 3G/EVDO to 1x?
Not sure if I understand your question correctly but you should be able to go into the communication manager and tap the switch on data connection. This will shut off your data until it is needed again, ex: if you go into opera then it should switch back on.
Quick link to communication manager, not sure on your ROM, haven't used it, would be to tap the upper bar on your phone, where your battery is displayed and all those other icons, then tap the icon next to "Carrier Name" also has a counter depending on if you have a active data connection. |

Re: How to switch from 3G/EVDO to 1x?
I use a program called bandswitch. You can set it to turn off your 3g connection after a certain amount of inactivity (mine is set to 60 seconds) Cuts back on battery drain pretty good

Re: How to switch from 3G/EVDO to 1x?
A little confused on the license for this. The about screen says it will expire in 13 days. Will I have to purchase this after the 13 days? Will it nag me if I don't? I couldn't find any info on the website to clarify this for me. I don't mind purchasing useful apps (although I prefer free ...Who doesn't?), I just want to be clear on what will happen in 13 days.

Re: How to switch from 3G/EVDO to 1x?
I found the setting for this in EPST. If anybody's interested, here's the directions.
1. Go to the phone, type in ##778 and press Talk. 2. Select Edit and enter 000000 as the unlock code. 3. Press View Info, and select Modem Settings. 4. Change Preferred Mode to CDMA Only. 5. Change HDR Hybrid Preferred to Disable. 6. Save the changes and it will prompt you to restart the device. After doing this, I went from one to two or three bars of signal, and hopefully increased battery life as well. While Verizon does have a lot of 3G coverage, it can't compare to the strength of non-3G coverage.
