What Am I Doing Wrong?

I have tried everything to install one of the Energy ROMs without success. I tried the 21895 Sense 2.5. Downloaded to my PC harddrive, unzipped it, ran the installer and followed the directions. Each time, my PC and the Imagio both get to the sceen with 0%, where they stay for 5 minutes until the error screen shows up. I tried doing it again after a hard reset. I ran the installer with administrative privileges (Win 7 64), I did "hard drive" vs "sync with outlook" on active sync, all with no luck. Fortunately, I have always been able to reboot the phone. It can't be that hard. I am sure I am missing something simple. Do I have to elliminate all active sync associations on my pc first? Any help appreciated.

Ummm, silly question. Did you install HSPL? You only need to do this once.

Assuming you have already unlocked the phone via HSPL as mentioned above, try putting your phone in bootloader mode first before flashing. Soft reset and hold Vol Down + End and you should get the rainbow screen. Then plug in the USB and make sure it shows USB not Serial at the bottom. If your PC is loading drivers for it, let it finish. Then run the Rom Update executable file and walk through the flash wizard. It should work this way for you hopefully.

Thanks to all! I knew it was something simple. I incorrectly presumed that the unlocking occurred or was a part of the flashing program. There was no primer as to how to go about all of this. I only hope that my noobish mistake helped someone else.

i had to figure that out on my own as well..after reading through many pages and threads..
