Remote Desktop?

I'm pretty sure anyone who happens to have a windows server has noticed that the RDP we got in our Imagio is absolutely useless. Not only is it unable to zoom, but there is no way to TYPE!

Does anyone have a good alternative?

I really like my imagio as a phone... but it doesn't do what I need it to for work. (SSH and RDP to my servers)

Mahalo!

Re: Remote Desktop?

yeah man, don't use fullscreen. I get around fine on my windows 7 desktop leaving the bars at the top and the bottom. It's the price you pay for buying a device with no hardware keyboard. If you really can't stand it like that (and I don't see why you couldn't) you could always get a bluetooth keyboard...

Re: Remote Desktop?

Thanks Jon, I'll take a look at that. If I can zoom and type I should be OK!

bluetooth keyboard works great for remote sessions but the lack of zooming does present problems. If you track something down for this report back, I haven't had any luck.

Re: Remote Desktop?

unfortunately VNC is a better solution as it offers zoom and 1:1 capability. RealVNC windows mobile cabs are around, plus there are other brands.

Not sure why Remote Desktop is so mucked up... should be great on a 800x480 device.

FINALLY! - with Windows Phone 7 Series... we are taking accountability for the entire experience. That means you will not see layers, like HTC Sense or TouchFLO built on top of the UI by OEMs or MOs (mobile operators). - Aaron Woodman, Microsoft Director of Consumer Experiences
