Remove Carrier Text

So, I know there is a 'No Carrier Text, No Top Curtain, No Carrier Logo' thread out there, but its for Manilla 2.5, I am still running 2.0. Is there a regedit or something that will let me change the carrier text when at the home screen?

Here you can choose between 3 options to replace the Verizon logo in the top right. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=104936&highlight=htc+logo

I was wondering if there was a way to remove the 'Verizon Wireless' text as well?

Agreed, the whole line seems like a waste of space to me, both the text and the logo. Would prefer to see one more line of my upcoming appointments.

Did you figure out how to remove the text?
