Windows Mobile 6.5.3?

Does anyone know if htc will be providing a free upgrade for the Imagio in regards to 6.5.3?

I spoke with HTC rep and he said yes, an upgrade path will be available at some point don't know if going to be 6.5.3 but def. 7.0

The thing is that these guys love to lie...I heard of the same thing back when I had my touch pro

Yea I wouldn't worry about upgrading the touch pro, because they don't last long enough for upgrades anyway, I have two broken and one with a backlight that wont turn off at home in my sea of dead phones drawer at home. An upgrade for any htc device is a joke because as soon as the HSPL comes out we will be running windows 7 months before it comes out officially, just like 6.5.3 and 6.5.1. I have been running 6.5 for over a year on my touch pro and running 6.5.3 for nearly 3 months on my diamond.

Also the HTC rep can't speak for Verizon . If they don't update the ROM they can sell you a new phone if you want the latest and greatest.

I'm pretty sure there will NOT be an official upgrade to WP7 for this phone. The hardware requirements for WP7 are floating around already and they are higher than what is in this model. I would expect to see a 6.5.3 official ROM, and maybe other 6.5.x builds, but I highly doubt an official WP7 ROM will ever come out for the Imagio.

I hope WM7 is all that they say its going to be but I would love to get it on this phone also...I do not want to buy another phone for a while (3 years if possible)

Winmo7 will be announced on Feb 15th and I would not expect to be able to run it on anything less than a 1ghz processor. The only current winmo phone that is expected to be upgradeable is the HD2

The odds of there being any official release of a major upgrade to the OS of the Imagio is slim and none. The odds of a WM7 upgrade is absolute zero.
