Re: Task Manager

much respect keith. That button in the top right does shut stuff down i just didnt know if ther was a bigger button that could be programmed maybe even at the bottom. The phone is cool enough not to worry about such a trivial issue.

Side note what does flash a rom mean?

This is addressed in WM 6.5.x builds so really once the phone is unlocked you will have the new larger UI buttons at the bottom bar instead of the small one up top. This is all assuming custom ROMs are built with the newer WM builds, which is virtually a sure thing once the HSPL is done.

Wirelessly posted (XV6975 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

Flashing a ROM refers to the ability to rewrite the burned in ROM that ships with the device. 'ROM' means read only memory. This means the files cannot be overwritten..... unless the HSPL is cracked. HSPL is the security that prevents the memory from being overwritten. If the HSPL is cracked, custom ROM's can be applied to the phone allowing endless possibilities for phone functionality and customization.

Hope this answers your question.

Re: Task Manager

If you want to assign the left soft key there is a way. I have it on mine. Use file explore and navigate to the windows folder. Scroll down to task manager and tap and hold. Choose copy. Now go into start menu/ programs and click on menu, edit, paste shortcut. Rename it to remove the shortcut to and crap. It will now show up in the all programs list and will also show up in the list to assign it to the soft key.

Re: Task Manager

I tried it mine first and it worked. I have task manager mapped to my left soft key now. I think I will keep it that way.

Re: Task Manager

Great to know how to do that, and that is a way better way to open that up but that is still not what i was looking for. I want to be able to hit that button and that ends the process. It would be like hitting the end button and it ends it not just shuts that screen off. like if you hang up a call you just hit the end and it shuts it down. That would eliminate a step. Thanks though that is great to know how to do that cut and past tip.
