Battery Statistics Update

Under the settings tab for Battery Power information the phone shows up Last full charge, since last charge, standby time, talk time and device usage. My problem is that I have seen it work once, and I am unsure what I did to make it work properly or give any statistics for the charge. Does anyone see there's working and if so what they are doing to make it show up?
