There is no actual difference in the two. The hardware is the same just made at different times.

I went back and got it replaced with the google one and had no problems whatsoever and on top of that htc must of fixed the issue with the gap between the screen and keypad. Mine has no gap and is rock solid and has none of the problems the first on had. When I got it replaced the manager had a hero too with the problems my first one had. When I told him to get a google branding one, he thought it would make no difference. When they took it out the box and I showed him no gap, he said he would be doing the same swap too. |

Noob question, I just got insured as well and for broken models, you would have to pay deductible for that right?

Re: Broken Hero replaced by a "with Google" branded Hero through Asurion
same issues with my totaled hero..the vibration seemed to be off too..similar to the samsung instinct which seemed random at times.and it was very loud when i compared it to a Hero with google branding..(this was right out of the box, not after being dropped of course)

yea since it was considered physical damage beyond repair by the tech that looked at it and tried not to laugh at my situation..

Re: Broken Hero replaced by a "with Google" branded Hero through Asurion
Just an FYI, I got mine with the "with Google" back, and a build date of 20 Nov 2009. ##786# shows a hardware version of 0002.
However the demo I had gotten a few weeks ago, had the "HTC" back. (didn't check the ##786# info on it though) |
