HTC Hero caught running 2.1!

Android 2.1 is expected to be a minor update to the major update which was Android 2.0 'Eclair'. Android 2.0 is currently only available on the Motorola DROID--their are still devices stuck on either Android 1.5 or 1.6. It definitely makes more sense for HTC to tweak HTC Sense and the like for the most recent Android version and that looks to be Android 2.1.
If Android 2.1 can run on the HTC Hero, it should theoretically be able to run on other first generation Android devices like the T-Mobile G1 and myTouch 3G. So stay hopeful, it looks like Android 2.1 will come to you eventually. There's no details on a rollout but if you're interested in looking at some screenshots, hit the jump!

Maybe this means the 2.0 update for the Sprint Hero will be out soon? I wonder what watermark was "edited" out of those photos?

I read that , but we will have to see. seems like The Euro Market is faster than us.....meaning the tech is ahead of us

i hope they include a way to update all your apps at once. i also hope they find a way to merge contacts from your phonebook/facebook/email together.

Nice! Can't wait. Please tell me android 2.0/2.1 has the ability to update ALL apps. Its so annoying updating 20 apps 1 by 1

Yeah, its such a pain.

I wonder what extras Sense has in combo with the .1 features.

I seriously hope that HTC updates some of their widgets to provide more options than full screen or small sized outputs. I would like to have multiple email readers on one page, or a larger photo frame, or smaller photo flip book, etc..
