[MOD][11/24/09] Application Optimizations Now with Zipalign

I have gone through several applications from the MR release and optimized the images inside in an attempt to free up memory and/or speed things up a bit.

Some things benefited more than others, for example, Rosie.apk has lost around 7MB.

This will only work on software version 1.56.651.2. Don't know what version you have? Go into your settings -> About and scroll down to Software Version

Anyways, here's a list of things that have been optimized:

Folder: /system/app/

Browser.apk
com.htc.WeatherWidget.apk
htcContacts.apk
HTC_IME.apk
Maps.apk
Phone.apk
Rosie.apk
Settings.apk
Weather.apk

Folder: /system/framework/

com.htc.rersources.apk

Also included in the zip are the animations and boot screen from the Gutted rom

The zip is signed and can be flashed from recovery

This has been tested on the following:
Fresh 0.4b, 0.5d, 0.6
Unofficial MoDaCo 1.2

Can anyone confirm it works with FreshRom 0.6 (today's release)

Also by optimzation what do you mean exactly? What's actually in the APK to optimize without sacrificing stability or features?

It works with any rom with software version 1.56.651.2 which includes fresh 0.6. In fact, I believe Fresh 0.7 is going to include these optimizations
In the apks, there are image files which can be optimized, as well as zip align for faster access. I've had this going on xda for quiet some time with over 150 downloads

Sorry I'm referring to the gutted Rom Extras (without the gutted rom) that can be added to fresh.

The lockscreen that I ported (the one in the gutted rom) and the boot screen and animations from the gutted rom extras are included and are also farther optimized. In otheer words, you will get everything that comes with the gutted rom extras in my optimization package

I'm planning on getting a hero shortly...would I just install these over the other versions or do I have to uninstall and reinstall? of course after rooting, correct?
