Sprint update . . . . post your results here please.

I created this thread for posting your results of the sprint update.
I didn't feel that the other thread was a good place for posting results.

Please include if you your hero was ever flashed with a non stock rom or if it was always stock.

I haven't flashed yet . . .did you?

i did the RUU. started fresh, upgraded, rooted, installed my stuff. my awake time is terrible. i was gettin under 20% usually before the update, now im in the 80s. my battery seems to be draining extra fast. and my texts are coming in and sending very slow and late.

and why are the apps i had, now not availale in the Market?????

Im just starting. I did the long way reroot and all,Sprint RUU to update then fresh install Then to Modaco's with a install of fresh Rom then updated. I was experimenting that explains why the long process. I will say The unit is very responsive. Managed to keep some of my apps originally installed. Will update

I'm guessing hard reset is the best way to go about this thing?

I'm currently on modaco's rom and if i wanted to install this update and didn't want to format, can I just install fresh's rom then his update cab?

I thought android was different from wm so all the hard resets weren't necessary.. am I missing something?

I did the update, and everything is working fine. Battery is a lot better. Haven't charged all day, and have about 18% left. My phone is much more responsive. I like the weather in the calendar. btw, I've always been stock. Don't want to flash til 2.0, I guess I'm patient.

I did notice the extra buttons while "in call". Nice! Otherwise I did not notice any changes. The phone is just as fast and responsive as the day I bought it.

Re: Sprint update . . . . post your results here please.

I did a clean update since I'd been running MoDaCo and the firmware wouldn't install. Flashed RUU, updated to the latest firmware, then did a hard reset just for kicks, installed all my programs, and rooted. Everything's running great. CPU isn't at 100%. I'm using the stock SMS app. Also, none of the annoying program shortcuts issues. My only frustration has been trying to get it running the way it had on MoDaCo. I can't seem to figure out how to enable adp remount, or how to edit the default.prop to keep me in root, or install the superuser.apk, etc., etc. Basically the stuff MoDaCo built right in to the ROM. It really shouldn't be so difficult, but adp shell is missing a lot of standard linux commands! </rant>.

I really am happy with the update though. Everything seems to be working like it should.
