Google maps force close?

I'm having trouble with my Google maps since I rooted my phone. Every time i go into it and try to search for something, it force closes. Not sure what happened or how to fix it.
Please help! I need my google maps

Are you using modaco's rom or one of the spin-offs of it?

I was having the same problem when I started using MODACO's rom. I simply uninstalled the application and and re-downloaded it @ the marketplace... works like a charm now.
