Handscent problem

For some reason my handscent shortcut icon shows up as a red x, any reason why it is doing this??

Mine did the same thing but updating helped. I updated and worked fine...uninstall and install it again...might help.

Re: Handscent problem

I updated to the new version and all was well. Then I did a soft reset and the widget loaded "Trouble loading widget". I removed this and went to add the widget again and it wasn't there and the shortcut icon in the apps had changed and the name was a long system name instead of Handcent. So I had to uninstall the newest update and reinstall it. This fixed the problem and it's working fine and the widget returns to the android apps menu. If your phone is behaving like mine then it will do this everytime you soft reset.
Also if I didn't delete my Yahoo account settings in the mail app before soft reset and reinstalled Handcent I couldn't access Yahoo mail. I would have to delete Yahoo Mail account, soft reset, setup Yahoo Mail then reinstall Handcent.
I have no idea why it is doing this or what impact Handcent could have on this or if it's just a coincidence but just in case this may help someone.

Re: Handscent problem

I had the same problem when I had handcent installed and it seemed to happen after I did the update. I uninstalled and reinstalled to fix more than once, but it eventually reverted to Red X and really acted weird.

Re: Handscent problem

Is your phone rooted, running apps2sd? This was a big problem with updates and a certain cache folder. It is the same problem that causes Google Sky to become titled EULA. There is a fix, but I think only for rooted phones...
