Dude You have to get it, i went threw $1500 worth of HTC diamonds in the year i had it. Its well worth the $7 bucks a month. Plus if its water damaged or you/someone else has a fit and throws it out the car like many people have ben known to do, its only $100. WAY WAY WAY worth it

Right about the Best Buy insurance. The warranty service is out-sourced so most (if not all) work will take a lot longer than if you went with Sprint's insurance.

TEP4 is the soc, thats the one i used... but make sure they dont add the 4 dollar cover which is just service. just tell them to replace the 7 with a 4 and log in online and make sure its TEP not the other one.

^A classic example of why many Sprint users should get TEP insurance.

in store service on HTC phones is non-existent. They dont even list it on the sprint website as a possibility! Just go for the $4 loss, physical damage, water damage insurance. Warranty should cover everything else!!!

Didn't even know that they repaired them. Last year my HTC Mogul wouldn't dial out. I went to a Sprint store and (I presumed because I had the $7 protection plan) they didn't even send me back to the service section, just whipped out a refurb and swapped the phones. Thought this was standard practice. I was very impressed by Sprint service that day and have repeated the story to friends that have had repair horror stories from other providers.

I have gotten my keyboard replaced on my pro at a sprint service store before, but having the insurance is worth it unless you have a old school phone in which you can buy online for less than the 100 deductible.
