Got the Hero!!!!

So I got the hero and I have HTC Sync installed on my pc but when I go to sync (To pull contacts out of Outlook 2007 not express) it doesnt transfer any to my phone. I get connected and it says that it finish the sync says transfered 0/0 contacts. I looked in the settings on HTC Sync on my PC and the only option I get is "Windows Contacts" is that the same as the contacts in Outlook

Edit: Got it all working Close this thread

You go into the sync settings in the HTC sync program and change the location where it gets the contacts from. I think your phone needs to be plugged in to do it though. Hope this helps

Thanks, this solves the issue in android 1.5. The current android 2.1 roms don't have the option for outlook, the only solution I have found for this is to revert back to 1.5 and change the above option until fixed if outlook sync is necessary.

Re: Got the Hero!!!!

I havent tried htc sync, but one method i have used is to go into outlook and export all of your contacts as a CSV file, and then import that file into google contacts and then sync google contacts to your hero

the whole process only takes about a minute or two and you can edit those contacts as you wish in google contacts and have them update on your phone automatically

That works as long as your CSV file isn't too big.

I tried that before using the HTC sync and Google wanted me to pay them money to upgrade my account so I could upload bigger files.

The HTC sync program came preloaded on my memory card or you can download it for free from HTC.
