Wink looks like sprint will be giving me a free hero

so basically i bought a blackberry curve last week. it is defective and im fed up with it. i wanted to exchange it for the hero or the moment. i was on the phone with sprint all day yesterday talking to 6 different people. finally i got one service rep from account services. she offered me a great deal on the hero. $100 mail in rebate + an additional instant $100 of the phone. so i would only pay $179 yesterday and get the $100 back. i told her to call me back in an hour so i could deposit money in my bank account for the transaction.

so an hour passed and she never called, i told her i need to do this by 5pm because i was going out. so i called back and of course got a different person. the woman never left notes of her deal in the computers so basically i was told i could only get the hero for full price or if i ship my phone back i can get it for $279. i went round and round with them about what their service rep offered me. i even spoke to a supervisor and basically i was told i was a liar. i escalated this to high management and told them to listen to our phone conversation because i was not lying to them to try to get a discounted rate. i was soo irate yesterday i was going to cancel my contract. i even called sprint corporate and was told there was nothing they could do.

my current phone has not been receiving phone calls or voice mail notifications. so this morning i get a voice mail from yesterday. sure enough it was the service rep that offered me the deal. she said she apologized for not calling me back but she has some training she needed to do. she said she saw i called back and she said she didn't enter her deal into sprints system because she left it up on her pc to remind her to call me back. she said she was sorry and wanted to still offer me the deal. i was soo pissed this morning after what i went through i called sprint back and advised them of her call. i have the voice mail saved and now im being told when management comes in they will want to hear the voice mail and more than likely sprint will eat the cost of a phone of my choice for the inconvenience.

now the question is which should i get the hero or the samsung moment?

im still very upset as i think sprint has the worst customer service ive ever seen in my life. but for a free phone ill stick around for awhile.

moral of the story is, sprint needs to train their employees right. no reason to get a different answer from every person you talk to. i hope after i get my free phone she gets fired and has the cost of my free phone taken out of her paycheck.

Sprint customer service has always been good to me to be honest. I always stay nice, polite and calm, they usually respond better to this.

Get the Hero by the way.

the lady i spoke to today was awesum but yesterday they were idiots. ive never had a good experience with sprint customer care. honestly after seeing a review of the moment im leaning towards it more than the hero.

just got off the phone with sprint after 2 days of non stop issues with them. im not getting a hero for free but i am getting one for only $80. i go to the corporate store tomorrow after work to pick it up and turn in my defective blackberry. im just glad this is a done deal now in writing. i swear sprint is a bear to deal with. if it wasn't for this offer i would of switched to at&t tomorrow and got 2 iphones.

wow, thats harsh. I could understand if she never called back, but she did. and as far as training, did you say she had training to go to??
