Has anyone else got a text message from sprint saying to dial *2 for a software update?

This is a normal update even on several phones including smartphone and pda's

Strange I went and took a look it was showing mine to be 60654, did a manual update and it found and applied it. So why did I even have to dial *2 ?

Who knows. I think Sprint sends those out to all phones, and some of the older phones don't have an update PRL option that the "normal" user can see.

This is actually the first device i have owned in which you can manually update. The other way was such a pain in the ***.
