Do you sometimes not receive alerts for your gmail notifications?

I work in a quiet office environment, with my phone sitting on my desk most of the time, about 12" from my hands. Sometimes, I will notice my green LED flashing, and I turn on the screen, and I have a new email. I never received a chime, or vibration. Sometimes, I receive the chirp, and the vibration. I have my gmail open on my computer, so it is a little redundant, so I'm not too concerned. Just wanted to see if others have noticed a similar occurrence. And it happens with a soft reset, as well. All my settings would indicate that I should be notified with a chime, and a vibration.

I have noticed that sometimes certain programs will enable or disable a function. I just uninstalled a program that was blocking my receipt of text messages.

I'm thinking it may be because of receiving another email in the same conversation, and not reading the previous update to the conversation. I'm testing that theory out now.

Yes I agree maybe the different notification settings are causing the conflicts

After a little testing, I think I found the cause. If I have unread emails in my inbox, and a new email comes through, I don't get the vibration/chime. Just the flashing LED. If all emails in my inbox are read, I get the vibration/chime, as well as the flashing LED. I don't see a way to change that in the settings, so I guess that's the way it is.

Does that seem to be the experience with everyone else?
