Better Voices for the HTC Hero

This is my first post to this forum. I was glad to read that there is a likelihood that Sprint's might upgrade their Hero to Donut.

I just bought my Hero a week ago. I was surprised to see that Donut's/Eclaire's better quality PICO voices are not available for Cupcake phones. While Google's TTS library is downloadable to the Cupcake, and usable for apps like talking caller ID, talking SMS messaging , speaking pads, etc., the voices sound pretty bad.

It was for that reason I had our developers backport Google's PICO higher quality voices (US English, UK English, Italian, German, French, and Spanish) in a manner that enables users to install and run them on Cupcake phones.

Our "Better Voices for Cupcake" library is available from Google Market. Search for IDEAL Group and you'll see them listed.

Here's to a time in the very near future that we can all benefit from some of the incredible apps integrated into Donut/Eclaire that are missing in Cupcake.

One application, in particular, is a screen reader for individuals who are blind. Rather than having to use past generation cell phones and paying hundreds of dollars extra for a screen reader, individuals who are blind will be able to have full access to the screen reader bundled with Android Donut and Eclair for free.

As you can tell, our team is focused on leveling the playing filed for individuals with disabilities.

All for now.
