I Really Like this Phone BUT....

some of the issues we're experiencing really should have been caught before release.

Wrong times on the clock (I haven't experienced this yet)
Weather not updating.
Alarm Clock not working (Had my phone for 5 days, the alarm hasn't worked yet)

to have so many of us experience these issues, there's no way none of this was noticed. (Unless testing was very minimal)

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

I'm new to google OS but so far i really like it coming from a touch pro. It had a lot more issues. I had to replace my pro 5 times all the times for freezing and keyboard going out.

If these small issues is what the hero has so far ill take it. The only one im experiencing so far is the weather updating, but it doesn't take me long to just click the weather and update it myself. Im sure there will be a fix in the future. Ive had the hero for two weeks now and i have to admit im very pleased. I though i wouldnt like an all touch screen phone. once i got use to the screen keyboard im very pleased with the hero.

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

These are all issues with the operating system itself, not the phone. When HTC skinned and tinkered with android (much like they've been known to do with windows mobile) a couple of weird things happened. When we get the Donut upgrade, all these problems should be washed away and thensome. Just give it time.

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

There are 2 things for me that might make me send it back.

*the email app on the TP is much better
*the screen brightness dimming when I don't want it to is extremely annoying

Everything else seems to work great for me, but those 2 are enough. Might have to go back. Unless I know donut is going to fix it.

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

The screen dimming might have been due to the autosensor. I turned mine off. I'm hoping email gets an upgrade with 2.0 . At minimum, it'll supposedly have a unified inbox.

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

Yeah, you can make the screen brightness a static value. Thats not, IMO, a very good reason to send a phone back.

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

the brightness is a very annoying problem but not a good reason to send it back...

i hate the onscreen keyboard i really wish it had a hardware keyboard but damn if it did it would probably be as thick as the tp.... so ill take it like it is...plus im getting pretty good with it

does everyones screen stay on during a call??? mine is always on... is there a way to turn it off during a call???

besides those minor issues i love this damn phone... it runs circles around my old tp and pre

Re: I Really Like this Phone BUT....

I actually didn't realize I could turn the auto brightness off. I assumed that backlight was the light for the buttons, so that is fixed now. thanks.

As far as the email, the TP is much better IMO. I have 4 email accts. I like to be able to just glance down and see all 4 accts and which ones have new mail. I don't like having to pull the status bar down and clicking on each mail box individually.
