WIFI connected, but won't pull data

Ok.....so I've had an odd occurrance over the last 2 days, and my suspicion is that they are related, but it could be a wacky coincidence:

I currently have WIFI on at all times. When I'm at home, i'm connected to my network.....when i'm at wrok, i'm connected to my network. The difference is, when I'm at work, for some reason, I cannot pull data using WIFI. It says it's connected, I have entered the proper password and it acknowleges the connection, but it won't pull data. Facebook, Twitter and weather don't update. I can't access the browser or the Market. I turn WIFI off and boom...all data is accessible. Since I've had WIFI on all day for the past few days, I've noticed my battery life has been extended, which I thought was weird. My guess is, because it's unable to pull updates from everything, it wasn't using as much power, but the WIFI radio is still on using power. I have no such problems at home. WIFI works like a charm.

I'd like to keep the battery issue and the WIFI issue separate. I'm not too concerned about the battery, but I'd like to know why WIFI won't work at my place of employment. My guess is that this issue has absolutely nothing to do with the phone, but with the security setup of the router; however, if I enter the correct username/password combo and it connects, shouldn't it work?

As a side note, phone calls come through, text messages come through and email updates.

Any ideas?

Check the connection settings on your work computer. Does the network assign IPs automatically, or was a specific IP programmed into the settings? If the router does not assign IPs automatically, you will need to give the hero an IP.
