Android Browser Love it or Hate it?

How is everyone finding the switch to the new browser?

I for one love it. It seems to render snappier then Opera. It also displays elements (I think mostly ajax stuff) that Opera doesn't. My only complaints are the bookmark management could be a lot better, and I would like to individual passwords. I certainly don't miss Opera closing on me when I bounce between tasks.

Re: Android Browser Love it or Hate it?

I love it. Faster than Opera but not than the WebOS browser. Flash is great on my end and i love the text reflow, copy paste, and how the bookmarks are displayed as well as the open windows. Great browser but more speed would be nice

Meh. I prefer Opera Mobile for its better rendering and animated GIF support. That last one blows my mind - how can a modern smartphone not display animated GIFs?

It works fine for me, but I do have one major gripe about the Hero's browser: no option to keep the status/notification bar on the screen! Driving me bonkers.

I don't understand the animated gif thing either, but I'm very happy with the webkit browser. Scrolling is great, and very fluid. Some sites seem to be very slow to load all the time, and others fly right to the screen.

Wow I didn't notice the animated GIF thing, that is a bummer. Can mike20pr or anyone with a Pre see if its browser displays them?

Yeah at the very least it should display the notification bar when we get notifications :/

I'm also not a fan of htc's flash.

Re: Android Browser Love it or Hate it?

I like the browser, its faster than the Opera browser, the only browser I've seen faster so far was the Pre browser, faster but not better (but the Pre was very immature). Other than the battery issues I'm having no complaints about the Hero.

Pre doesn't either.

Re: Android Browser Love it or Hate it?

The CDMA hero has the apps installed on the phone's memory. Not the SD card. Installing apps on the SD card can't happen until the device is rooted.
