You have to open the default messaging app and click menu for settings and turn off "auto receive" and "message alerts" so that app doesn't respond when you get a text. You only want Handcent to respond when you get a text.

This stupid new update has given me the Gray arrow for received mms. Gay.

Ok is it just me or is handcent getting progressively worse?! It has been really slow and the keyboard kept freezing so I checked for an update. I updated today to version 2.9.12 and now it is completely crapping out. It wont load, when it does it freezes and then force closes. HTC hurry up with the update so i can go back to stock! handcent has nice features but the bugs are frustrating! Suggestions?

I am considering giveing ChompSMS a try but it had some reviews that concerned me a bit...

....*update* just downloaded ChompSMS and it too is laggy and force closing.... wondering if it could be my phone... I'm going to try a few soft resets and see if it helps, I hope I don't need to do a full hard reset

Hopefully someone can help me with this. I don't know if the recent update screwed something up, or if I did something, but my text conversation display is all messed up. It's not showing up as a regular conversation any more, all the texts I send are at the bottom, & all the ones they send are all on top of mine. Makes it hard to follow a conversation when I have to keep scrolling up to see their reply. BTW, the stock message app is doing the same thing.
