Calm down you probably have tons of email addresses attached to your contacts is because gmail saves everyone you send/receive your emails from in your address book. This is how I dealt with it. I didn't sync my contacts from gmail only calendars/mail and I use HTC Sync and sync my contacts from Outlook (PC) hope this helps. Hero is great! you should keep it!

you are doing the same thing i have done over and over and over and over and over and over...i never sync with google contacts only calender and mail (when i want it)i only sync outlook contacts and i make sure my outlook is correct every time i sync but the phone has a mind of its own i guess cuz it puts what it wants in and changes things if it wants...and if it likes something a lot then i get up to 3 of them

ive also had a problem restarting mine when its o the usb cord. i have to pull the battery sometimes because its locked up.

my phone is possessed

I wouldn't go back to the Touch then.....that's a land I was in before and I won't be going back any time soon.

I agree with you that some issues are a little more irritating than others, especially when it affects the productivity aspects of the phone (Calendar showing events 1 day off, Clock not adjusting/adjusting the incorrect continent for DST, Contacts showing up 4 times...), but I truly believe that either your phone is defective, in which I would just return it for a new one, or a hot-fix patch will be coming soon.

What ever you choose though, good luck.

Have you tried going into people -> Groups tab, press menu and then tap sync groups and you can select which groups to sync there.

Re: where did i put the box it came in?!?!?!?!

I had this problem soo many times with winmo. My problem was always because I switched phones and outlook would triple my contacts. I am a firm believer that this is an outlook problem. My Gmail sync has not done this! When I had a touch and a TP I used dupededupe and it seemed to do the trick, but I completely quit syncing with outlook because of this!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us; A6277 Build/CUPCAKE) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)

I agree about using Google contact sync. You can import all your Outlook contacts to Google and all your contacts will sync w/o even syncing to your pc.

Re: where did i put the box it came in?!?!?!?!

well i contacted sprint and they said that it sounds like my phone is faulty. they are sending me a new one. they said i have done all that they would have done to my phone so there was no questions asked and i should get my new one by tuesday.

gives me time to clean up my outlook from the crap the phone synced to it falsely.
