Re: An App for that..

I'm curious if anyone has tried any other keyboards?

I find typing to be "o.k.", but I really wish it was easier to swtich between different types of keyboards, and/or assign different keyboards to different programs.

For instance, I like the compact qwerty for texting, but like a full KB for web browsing and use in landscape mode.

I haven't tried .wmv files...but i have a bunch of .mp4 movies that work just fine. I'm using LuckLuck to play them.

If I'm not mistaken, you need to have access to the root of the device to use a screenshot app. Here is an alternative

Re: An App for that..

For a file explorer I reccomend EStrongs File Explorer. The main reason I like this is the ability access shared folders on networked computers.

Re: An App for that..

Was trying out a few alarm apps last night and for now i'm sticking with GWakeup. It's the closest I could fine to G-Alarm from WM. It plays music files as your alarm, can setup multiple alarms, and adjust the snooze time which oddly alot of other apps won't let you do.

The only thing it doesn't have is the fancy games/math problems or what have you that some of the other apps have to make it harder for you to hit the snooze too often. It just has a snooze and close option when the alarm goes off.

Other small annoying thing is you have to select each music file individually to your alarm. I'm going to suggest to the developer that he add an "add all" option. Other then that, the app worked flawless this morning.

I had seen some cool features in other alarms like shake to snooze, or voice to snooze but no one app seemed to have ALL these cool features in one. That would be nice.

By the way, it's .99euro which = $1.47

Re: An App for that..

I had some issues with Handcent SMS. It would set off two notifications with both my regular SMS and Handcent, is there a way to fix that? I'm assuming it may just be a setting? I just got tired of messing with it last night. I love the app, just wish it would set off two notifications and have two notifications in the top notifications drop down. Help? I'm new to android, i loved my TP and flashed and cooked my own rom's alot but haven't messed much with android.

Open the stock SMS app, in menu -> settings then Notification settings and disable notifications. I like Handcent especially because it allows my phone to sleep. I hope the developer adds the HTC style threading with the avatars. Also there is a black list setting so you can hide that System txt you're going to get every time you get a voice mail.
