uhh, lock 2.0 works on all--rooted or unrooted--doesn't matter.
Keep in mind that while lock 2.0 is running any botton, includin ght etrackboall and volume rocker keys will turn on the phone. The volume rocker pretty much getspressed in my pocket every step I take so the phone is on all day. Fail.

uhh, I thought I read somewhere that it was root only.

Lock 2.0.
the slider is the carbon theme. I believe the battery is the sleek theme. Select always show battery in settings. One issue though, it turns screen on every time the volume slider is touched while holstered.

I tried out the Clock switcher widget program found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538189

It a great program and it works on the CDMA Hero. There are about twenty or thirty clocks included ( one shown is included) but what i found usefull is that it allows me to create my own custom clocks by replacing the .png files in the .apk's using 7zip. The program will push the clock to the phone in one click. All you need pre installed is SDK which anyone with root would have. You should check it out.
