Way to check to see if Apps2SD is working correctly.. all thanks to nelson8403 from xda!

Just because the apps are installed to the SD card doesn't mean they don't store things on the phone.. cache is stored on the phones, theres a /data/data folder on the phone that the apps populate as well, it just doesn't take AS MUCH space on your phone as a non appstosd

also to make sure your apps are working go into your adb shell, type in

Code:
cd /data/app
pwd

cd /data/app-private
pwd
What this will do is go to your /data/app folder and because with appstosd that is a symbolic link to /system/sd/app the PWD (present working directory) will display /system/sd/app, if PWD shows /data/app you are not running appstosd

Yes, its a rigorous process though. Sell hero on eBay, buy vogue. Unlock and get a new 6.5 Rom. This has been asked in every hero thread so I will explain here just to clarify. No! You need a license for winmo, so no one wants to get put in prison for putting a lacking os on a phone w a great os. There are reasons that both ate great, but I prefer Android and was avid winmo before making that decision. So, no, but feel free to try, just don't tell micro$oft because they'll b angry.

Yeah, you just write a regretful note to all your loved ones and take a big ol' swig of bullet

Here's one I got off androidforums. I know alot of peeps have complained about the notifications issue when having multiple email accounts setup with the HTC mail app and not being able to tell which account has the new email unless they go through each account manually. Here's a workaround.

Well, here is an idea for knowing which mailbox in HTC Mail has unread email in it.

If you don't have notifications setup for every mailbox in HTC Mail, or you dismissed the notification for new email in the notification bar for one of your various HTC Mail accounts, there is no way to know which HTC Mail account has unread email in it when you launch HTC Mail.

So, to only use up one ICON on the desktop, create an Android Folder and name it 'Email' or something. Then, one by one, add each of your HTC Mail mailbox's to the desktop using 'Shortcut/Mail Inbox' and place all these mailbox shortcuts inside your new desktop 'Email' folder. WALLA!

I’ve been experimenting with the PC Sync options using HTC Sync and CompanionLink. I trialed CompanionLink and it seemed to work fine for me but I was hesitant to spend $40 bucks on an app when HTC provided HTC Sync. The problems I had with HTC Sync version 2.0.5 was the duplications and truncating of calendar and contact notes. I’m currently trying version 2.0.8 so I’ll update on this. But, I did find out in my research a way to wipe your calendar and contacts clean very quickly. Go to Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and “clear data” on these applications:

Contacts Storage
People
Com.android.providers.calendar
Calendar

Works for me…and I’ve done it plenty of times!

Anyone know how to increase the maximum volume and vibration on the hero? I think that HTC has the default max for both functions far too low. When I use my alarm or if the phone rings, it is just not as loud as I'd like it to go.
I've found volume hacks for the G1 but not for the Hero. HELP!

@DaCounty...did you think this was important to put on tricks or is it just assumed that everyone knows this?
