To flash a rom to your hero:
Make sure you are root, have a recovery image loaded, and have backed up your phone using Nandroid. I am not responsible for your mistakes! Now, the good stuff. Download the file you want and name it whatever you want, some people name it update.zip because that's an option in your recovery but I suggest naming it "the name of the rom"1.zip Don't unzip it, and if there are any add-ons offered that you want download them and name them "name of rom"2.zip and so on, don't unzip these either. Put all of the rom files on the ROOT of the SD card. Reboot into recovery, power down, then hold volume down and press end key while holding volume down. You will get a white screen, press home, and you are in recovery. Choose: Apply sdcard:choose zip. This will let you pick what rom you want to flash. Choose the first and let it go through. Make sure this is the rom and not add-ons. Then go back into recovery and do the same for 2 and 3 or however many you have. When it boots back up you are set to go! Modaco's does not require a wipe, but do make sure you have backed up all your info just in case!!! Side note: If you have A2SD2 that is automatic like Modaco's its ok if you aren't set up when you flash. Go in and back up your storage card to your pc 1st!! Then go back into recovery like stated before and choose Partition SD Fat32, Ext2, Swap, this will set it up. When done choose reboot now. When it boots up put all your files back on your SD card and look in settings>SD & Phone Storage, at the bottom that number should now be in the 60's or 70's. Mine was 36, now its 72. It will still fluctuate a little, but you are in better shape either way. |

Outlook to HTC Sync fix...
Is anyone encountering the following sync issues when using HTC Sync v2.0.5 to sync with Outlook? 1. After setting up 2-way sync and executing syncs afterwards, contacts and calendar events begin to duplicate. 2. HTC Sync truncates contact notes and calendar event notes. I'm doing the trial on Companionlink for Google and it seems to be doing ok but just not my cup of tea to sync from Outlook to Google and back to Phone. I contacted HTC and they have an upgrade to v2.0.8 available now but could not tell me if these were some of the fixes. Any help on this would be great! |

To remove an app default you selected accidentally:
Settings>Applications>Manage Applications: Choose the app that is default and pick clear defaults now when you choose a file it will give you the option. |

Way to check to see if Apps2SD is working correctly.. all thanks to nelson8403 from xda!
Just because the apps are installed to the SD card doesn't mean they don't store things on the phone.. cache is stored on the phones, theres a /data/data folder on the phone that the apps populate as well, it just doesn't take AS MUCH space on your phone as a non appstosd also to make sure your apps are working go into your adb shell, type in Code: cd /data/app pwd cd /data/app-private pwd What this will do is go to your /data/app folder and because with appstosd that is a symbolic link to /system/sd/app the PWD (present working directory) will display /system/sd/app, if PWD shows /data/app you are not running appstosd http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=582684&page=2 |
