i have an 8gb sd card, and i did the swap2 or apps2sd to it.. how do i get back to fat32 w/o having to redownload every app?? i dont have a pre app2sd backup.. And thanks for everything "tha county"....

I am afraid without a backup you will be SOL. Sorry bro. You will have to back up sd card and boot into recovery.

Choose partition sd fat32 only

boot up go to settings phone and sd storage

unmount

format sd

Remount

put stuff back on it.

thanks... ive tried it both ways but a couple of my programs are actin funny and i cant get to the bottom of it with app2sd on my phone/ card.. We are in a blizzard in iowa so ive got plenty of "flash time"!!

Currently with wired connection (like HTC Sync), it can sync email, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes. Whereas, HTC sync only does contact and calendar sync. Plus, HTC Sync truncates contact notes and calendar details...

I received an email from MyLink support and they said that wireless sync is coming in February.

I believe it the .apk was removed but not the widget. check the forum, i know for a fact fresh posted something about it in the freshrom thread here and at xda

im lovin 1.0 but when im in wifi tether, which i cant get my laptop to connect to my phones internet for crap, if i press the home key, my hero soft resets... this happens everytime i press home while tryin to tethering.... is there a fix with this? and can i get some step by step instructs for wifi tether please? thanks!

I don't have this problem, post this in the Fresh thread or use back button to exit app.

WiFi tether must be turned on, press to start tethering. Then you connect your laptop to G1 Tether. That's it.

Turn on WiFi tether. Press to start tethering. Open up wireless connections on your pc. Look for G1 Tether. Connect to it. Computer will acquire address and then phone will vibrate. Surf safely haha.

I rooted, recovered, MoDaCo'd my HTC Hero from Sprint just fine after a few hours.
However, the next day I realized I was no longer receiving Text messages (Sending seems fine).
I went back to my earliest Nandroid backup (post-root, post-recovery image install).
This did not fix my issue.

I even went as far as downloading the original stock image, and loading that.
This resulted in bringing this back to factory state (inc. unrooting, recovery image removal).
However, I'm still unable to receive SMS.

Spoke to Sprint support.
They see lots of inbound SMS traffic to my phone during this period. They show it as delivered.

I'm not getting notifications of SMS or anything. Just not receiving any.
Anyone have this similar issue?

send text to 9999 "all messages". without quotes. this might help.

That may help ^ if not you may need a new MSID(I think) number. Mine got clogged one time and a new one helped. Otherwise, new phone time.

Hey guys having a problem, idk if my fone is rooted, I can enter bootloader so i think I am. All I do is press volume down n on button. But I still have some doubts.. I dnt have those news apps that I've seen on some hero booting videos like advanced setting I think n other.. anyway some can guide me? Thanks all

Well if you want to know if you are rooted download shootme from the market. If it works you are rooted, if not, try again. Bootloader is normal, if you press home and get Green Writing on top of HTC then you flashed recovery correctly.

I am adding this because the app thread is buried somewhere! Moto Phone Portal works on the Hero! It has been extracted and I may know a guy who knows a guy who has it, but it will not be posted here until I am sure it isn't considered warez. It does SMS, has call log, manages address book, shows pics, changes ringtones, etc... All over WiFi! This is a powerful app! Oh USB connection doesn't work, but WiFi works while WiFi tether is still running. This is clutch! Neway, Flipz, if this isn't warez it should be in the rom for real!

Then I guess i flashed recovery correctly but not rooted right.. is that possoble? Because shootme says failed luanch but i do get green letters after bootloader.. any advice county? I tried I tried both methods of rooting well jyst the flashrec method but from two different videos including the unlockr :/

You probably flashed a rom that was not rooted. It is possible. Get Fresh 1.1 and enjoy the madness.

Looks one may have been over looked and I'm wondering the same thing. I know in my old WM phones I could use the Audio Lite.cab to increase the volume. New to the Droid stuff but it's WAY better the WM.

I've had my Hero since the day it hit the stores, played with it relentlessly, tweaking settings, trying out widgets etc. etc. Got bored with it about 2 weeks ago. Only complaint was the lag, especially in the landscape keyboard. It was so laggy, you had to wait about 1.5 seconds in between button presses for it to keep up. Started reading up on rooting and flashing roms (as a previous Touch Pro, and current Vogue owner-running android, I have a little bit of knowledge flashing, just not of Android). Got it rooted 2 nights ago, then flashed Fresh 1.0. Last night, after 2 tries and 1 Nandroid restore, I got my SD card partitioned, and Apps2sd2 up and running, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed at the improvement. There is now almost no lag what so ever on my phone (with the exception of running a crap load of apps in background). Even in landscape keyboard, it lags a little at first load up, but after that, it sails like a dream. I can type a fully loaded text message with proper punctuation and everything, and it MIGHT lag once. Right now, I'm like McDonalds - I'm Luvin' It!

I kinda had the same problem I fpund that when I don't have a Ev connection YouTube would say it cannot play, also just turning the phone on and off sometimes helped but I would just say go to the app market and try an find a video app :/

I didn't answer this because it has been answered in another thread. Looks like a lot of work. We aren't even sure it will work. If it does work for you, post your findings for us.

I am pretty sure there is a volume hack in the market place. It costs like a 1.50 though.

Oh, its 1.50 in some other currency. Says it doesnt work on all phones but has a website in the description to check compatibility.

Ok finally took the plunge and rooted my phone. Used the method recomended by goku14238 on xda dev (Step by Step Way to root using Flashrec.... All went well did the Nandroid backup used the modaco rom and Voila my voicemail craps out w/ the force recovery message... Any ideas ANYBODY???? Help.....
