htc hero question please!

i currently have the htc tp... but im really thinking of trying out the htc hero with the new android platform... my only concern is can i tether my internet with it??! i can simply just plug in my tp to my laptop via my usb cable and use the internet on my laptop while im on the road.... that is very important to me. does someone have the answer to that? thanks.

also, would garmin gps work on it from win mobile? i highly doubt it, but if it does, that would be great since i paid alot for it.

Re: htc hero question please!

This isn't the correct forum to be asking questions about the Hero.

Re: htc hero question please!

Buy a Hero. Go into Android Market. Get a Tethering App. There are one or two to choose from.

yes it is available. For the most part your phone must be rooted first.

Re: htc hero question please!

Phone must be rooted for sprint hero which hasn't been done yet it seems. There is PDAnet I think for android but it's $30 and it seems some people are having issues with it. Check out the Hero section on Xda-developers.

If anyone has tried PDAnet on the Sprint HTC Hero, can you please confirm whether it works or not?

Thanks
