I'm thinking of going to hero from the evo and giving it a try. Just to save money from this $10 fee. I want to see if its anywhere near as smooth as my evo.

Re: Is it still worth it to get a Hero now?

Just my 2 cents but I think it depends what you are spending for it. I don't think its worth it for the $150 thru Sprint, and I would have to cough up the extra $50 for the EVO. But I picked one up for my son a week ago for $50 at Radio Shack. I played around with it a little and at $50 I would say its worth it.

Re: Is it still worth it to get a Hero now?

I agree that it all depends on what you are using it for. Having had a Hero, I loved the phone at the time. It was the first phone I had actually stuck with for more than a month or two. If you are just looking for a good phone to check emails, text etc... I don't think you can go wrong. I know they are fairly cheap to buy outright on the interwebz. Would I go back over $10 a month? Not a chance.

Re: Is it still worth it to get a Hero now?

I cracked the screen on my TP2, and I'm debating whether to spend the money fixing it or to ditch the TP2 and go with a refurbed Hero ($79 without contract on Sprint website right now).

I'm due for an upgrade rebate but I'm thinking if I grab the Hero and keep the upgrade rebate in tact, I can go for a 2nd generation 4G phone sometime next year.

hmmm... decisions decisions...

I can't find the $79 Hero on the Sprint website, can you tell me where it is (or link it)?

Re: Is it still worth it to get a Hero now?

I think its already gone.

Now Im considering upgrade my Titan. I've always been using prepaid verizon mvno(Page Plus) and dont like my phones get locked. The titan is running WM6.5 and its amazingly slow and has some major bugs(Wi-Fi drains the battery.... I dont know why Wi-Fi doesnt turn off when the phone goes into standby mode...) Everything is so slow on Titan...

Im planning to get a faster phone and switch to Boost Mobile for free data. Hero seems like a decent phone for me(great improvements to Titan?), but Idk if I can activate hero on Boost Mobile yet.
