Arrow What is the best *legal* firmware to have?

I just hard reset my phone because I was having some problems...

I was looking through my settings and noticed that I have firmware 1.5..

Is that the most updated one, through Sprint?

(The reason I say *legal* is because I don't know if I will still have problems with my phone, in the coming days... so I may have to take it into Sprint)

Model Number: HTC Hero
Firmware Version: 1.5
Baseband Version: 1.04.01.09.21
Build Number: 1.56.651.2
Software Version: 1.56.651.2
Hardware Version: 02

No, that's the stock rom that was shipped. You can install the newer 2.1 Android.

Try this link: http://www.htc.com/www/supportdownlo...act=sd&cat=all

Download the: ROM Upgrade for HTC Hero

And follow directions.

I would install the 2.1...5 and then go ahead and root. If there are problems with your phone you can always put the stock 2.1 back on since you were able to do that in the first place.

Do be aware that this will wipe everything from your phone, so make sure you back up contacts and any sms you want to save.

Yeah, if you're looking for firmware that won't void your warranty, you have exactly 1 option.
