Re: wifi usage?
Well, the typical home internet connection is about 7-8 times faster than the mobile network on the phone, not to mention all the LAN functions you can carry out. The main thing, though, is to keep your data usage to a minimum, keeping you from overages.
BTW, you could've posted both questions in the same thread.

Re: wifi usage?
OK - but how do I use the Hero wifi function? I have cable ISP/wifi at home already. I'm still very confused about how one uses the hero wifi function When I access the internet on my hero, is it using the cell function or wifi function? The speed seems the same when I turn off wifi.
Thanks. Jack Quote:

Re: wifi usage?
You'll need to connect to the network. In the settings menu in wireless&networks you have to select your network. The normal evdo icon on your notification bar will be replaced by a wifi icon.

Re: wifi usage?
yes but what am I doing? Am I running the internet on the phone off my home network via wifi then? And why would I want to do that when I'm at home?
Sorry to be so dense on this but I have a brain lock going on. |

Re: wifi usage?
so I am running the internet functions on the phone through my wifi/cable service at home(Comcast) instead of the cell service through my cell provider (Sprint). correct?
That's sort of what I thought but the web pages really don't load any faster as far as I can tell............ |
