Rooting Patched 2.1

My wife updated her 2.1 hero because she was having bluetooth issues syncing with her prius. After doing some reading, it does not seem to be possible to root this right? Did the patch make the device "unrootable" or is there just not much emphasis because of the newer devices? With no way to go back to the 1.5 she was running, I am trying to find a way to make this bluetooth issue go away so she will quit complaining. Any help would be appreciated.

you just have to sync and flash back to the older 2.1 version. I followed the directions laid out in this thread yesterday with easy success. The RUU you need is in the 2nd post of the thread.
