Re: OTA Update after Official 2.1 update ?
It all went smooth for me too. But I can't figure what it does. 3.17 MB isn't all that large. It calls itself an "upgrade" you are probably right about it being a bug fix. It it were new features/program, they would be bragging about it.

Re: OTA Update after Official 2.1 update ?
I've been reading that this fixes the root exploit for 2.1. So if you want to root the official 2.1, I wouldn't install this until its been confirmed what the update does.

Re: OTA Update after Official 2.1 update ?
When we had 1.5 there was a 3meg update but they told you it was to fix camera issues and other bugs. So I didn't think twice about it. But they aren't talking about this one, hmmm. That would be my luck, wonder why they would be so anal about keeping us from using the phone to its full potential. I hadn't rooted before but the new 2.1 is kind of a let down and was considering it.

Re: OTA Update after Official 2.1 update ?
I can tell you that after I got the 2.1 update my phone was eating the battery. It would last about 12-15 hours (and that's without me really using the phone) before I had to charge it. After doing that HTC software update, my battery life is back to normal again.
Also, I have not had any bluetooth issues. Not sure if that is from the HTC update or not, seeing as I did not set up anything on bluetooth until after I did the HTC update. |

Re: OTA Update after Official 2.1 update ?
Don't know what issues are fixed, but definately patches new root exploit. If you have 2.1 RUU, it can be reflashed back to 2.1 pre-patch, and you can then reroot.
