Re: Root Status to Official 2.1 Update from Sprint
I can't get the method to work, but it is a problem on my side I am sure. I can't get past the ADB step, there is nothing listed. I get the ADB is out of date... HTC Sync seemed to install just fine but I can not sync my phone. I can see the phone when I plug it in via usb to swap files on the SD card but I can not get HTC Sync to recognize my phone. I have restarted both several times, and just no luck. I have had the phone search for HTC Sync but it doesn't find it. Anyone have any suggestions? I just want root my phone and it seems that I can not do it without HTC Sync. If this is in the wrong place, sorry. I thought it was related since it is stopping me from rooting.

Re: Root Status to Official 2.1 Update from Sprint
For those who rooted the official 2.1 ROM, which custom have you gone with and why?
FYI... I had gone from a custom ROM on a WinMo HTC Touch to the Hero and had put off rooting until the ROMs were based on the official 2.1 version. |

Re: Root Status to Official 2.1 Update from Sprint
I really liked the PureHero roms. Especially 1.0. It's not based on the official release however. I've sold both my heros so I can't be of more help than that.

Re: Root Status to Official 2.1 Update from Sprint
Personally in my opinion Fresh 2.1.2 was very stable, responsive and had the best battery life, but flashing different roms from different chefs is the only way your going to find out which you like better. There's not to many chefs on here for the Hero but there's a lot of links of roms that people like in the Upgrades section that will take you to different chefs on XDA- Developers. Hope this helps
