Re: Hero to Evo?

I'll be upgrading to the EVO no matter what the cost, calling up Telesales on the 4th and charging the phone to the account. I've been with Sprint for almost 9yrs, Premier as well, so I will doing what I can to get a discount because I'm out of upgrades till 2011. If it costs me retail ($449) so be it, I gotta have the latest and greatest! Hero might ge ebay'd, sold locally, or just kept as backup.

not too be funny but that statement sort of worries me a bit. the diamond,tp and the vogue are over 2 year old phones, the hero isn't even a year old until october. i think people switch phones too much IMO. im out of work right now so i couldn't buy another phone if i wanted to. but i was going to pass up the evo anyways, im still hoping sprint changes their minds and gets the N1, from what ive read it still may happen.

but yes you can at least count on me to be around for awhile to make a few more roms once 2.1 drops.

Re: Hero to Evo?

lol im with u..im perfectly happy with my hero... but ya alot will move on.. but im almost certain A small percent will keep the hero and will continue to make themes and such.. people get all bent outta shape when new phones are around the corner.. Ah the hero is dead etc evo will rule. wm sucks etc. kinda like all the people who believe the world will end in 2012..<----not gonna happen.. same with the hero it will still thrive and a have nice small user base..like all the past smartphones still living around here.

some people have a endless pocket to keep upgrading all the time.. Me married with 3 kids.. so i have to be real selective..but as always i sell something to make up for part of the cost.. I do that with everything.. or milk the system so to speak, lol

Re: Hero to Evo?

I am currently wondering if the EVO will have better battery life then the Hero....if so, then I'm out. I can't stand having to charge my phone almost all day. I was in the hospital with my daughter the other night and I had to have my sister bring me my charger so I could stay at her bed side and update my wife. Rediculous. I did the tweaks for better battery life, I am running Fresh Rom 2.0d. I am not sure if his new rom is better on battery life so I may try flashing again but come on, this is crazy. I may just buy an extended battery but I don't want to get one of those real thick ones.

Well, we'll see what happens. Anyone know if the EVO will have better battery life. I did notice it's still a 1500 mAh battery.

Supposedly, the SnapDragon processor allows for less battery usage than the QualComm processors. However, the 4G radio will suck up a ton of juice, most likely. I'd expect battery life to be almost the same as the Hero. I'd be surprised if the Evo is much better.

I have the seidio 3500 extended battery for my hero. I can't wait for them to make their extended battery/cover for the Evo. I just need to order a battery cover, as the hero/tp2 have the same battery as the Evo.

Re: Hero to Evo?

Getting evo but probably hero. Terrible and getting rid of phones. Still have the touch and diamond. Both with android on em but just can't let em go. And I'm sure the evo will enter the pile in time also
