Re: Stolen hero - any ideas?

Did you file a police report for it being stolen?
As for people saying it's his fault, legally it's not his fault even if he left it there for just 10 minutes. Now could he have prevented it from occurring by taking it with him, sure.

I would 1) report it to the apartment complex (although they probably have signs stating they are not responsible for lost or stolen items, you can still report it though) 2) File a police report that your phone was stolen

Sucks that your phone was stolen, I don't think you'll get anywhere by kicking and screaming to Sprint/Assurion about it being stolen that that you demand a new one. I wish you luck though

Re: Stolen hero - any ideas?

Why should anyone give you a free phone because you left it alone for 10 minutes and it got stolen?

My laptop got stolen a few years ago. Was someone supposed to give me a new one for free?

no without one of those installed there is going to be no way to trace... and even with family locator if they turn the phone off they arent going to be able to locate it.

Yea they would have to be awfully stupid to leave that phone on.. But you never know, there are plenty of re - tards out there.. Pray they use the phone and make a call to one of there friends.. )

I would pay the 10$ for family locater no problem to try and find it.

Oh another thing alot of people don't realize is that you can get your phone covered for around 40$ a year through a major insurance vendor like state farm. Don't have to pay a deductible either.. Way cheaper than TEP for months on end + 100 for lost phone.

Re: Stolen hero - any ideas?

I had no idea I could insure it through a company such as State Farm. I just assumed the Asurion insurance was a pretty good deal. As for getting it replaced I'll probably just try and use a junker phone and wait for the EVO

Re: Stolen hero - any ideas?

here's an interesting read, although I'm not sure the date of this article
http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/ins...surance_a1.asp

You could probably also call your auto insurance agent and see if they can cover a smartphone... I'm going to contact mine and see what's up... I know they covered my daughters laptop from school and I only paid $38 with no deductible!

My insurance agent doesn't offer Smartphone insurance

Also, you may want to checkout the app called Lookout. It helped me find my phone.

Does this program have to be installed before the phone disappears?

If you paid with a credit card check with your bank. most CC have insurance but you need a police report. Good luck!

Yes, Lookout does need to be installed. I was putting it out there for everyone--just in case they haven't seen it yet.
