HTC Hero Back Door Cover

Can someone please advise me on how to open the back cover for my HTC Hero. It's from Sprint. I can't get access to the battery or my memory card. Any advice or suggestions. I dont want to break it. I tried pressing down on the back with my thumb and sliding but nothing. Please and thank you.

me too! the instructions make it seem simple but I've put a lot of pressure on it - not sure if I'm doing it right or not!

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

It is a tight fit for sure. I use the camera lens cover and with my thumb against it push up toward the top of the phone.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

I must have weak thumbs (not enough video games). I can't open it. It actually hurts my thumb. is it possible that I have a defective cover or the Sprint person put the cover back on wrong? I mean if she could do it I should be able to she was this little tiny asian woman.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

press down as little as possible. You're not trying to scrape it against everything inside there, you're just trying to pop it up. Its extremely easy once you get the hang of it. Remember, the force goes into the sliding, not pushing down.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

If I can do it without any issues at all, you should have no problems. Push up on the bottom (near the charging port) of the back cover and it comes right off.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

Yeah, make sure you are pushing in the direction of bottom to top. It might help if you sandwich the phone between your palms and slide that way.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

With the battery cover facing me, I put my middle and ring finger on the top of the phone, not touching the battery cover. I put my thumb on the bottom of the battery cover, and push up with the thumb, and push down with the middle and ring fingers. It pops right off for me, every time.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

I finally got it. Thanks everyone for the tips. The winning tip was sandwhiching it between my palms of my hands and push up. Popped right off. So easy...hehe....Thanks again everyone. Now I need to figure out why I'm not getting texts.

Re: HTC Hero Back Door Cover

Glad you got it figured out OP and thank you to all who offered a suggestion! Now, since the issue has been resolved, I am going to close this one down.
