microSD card questions

The documentation is very thin on the sd card. How do you tell what files are on the card other than plugging it into the computer?

I don't understand how email handles attachments. When I d/l an attachment to an email, does it go directly to the sdcard? Often I just need to look at the attachment once then have no reason to save it - does it stay on the card until I delete it? Seems strange way to handle attachments but maybe I'm totally wrong.

Do images from the camera go to the card?

Can anyone point me to a thread which explains the usage of the card and various tips and tricks?

Thanks from this hero-newb

Jack

Re: microSD card questions

You can use a file explorer app to browse the SD card. There are lots in the Market.

Downloads go in the Downloads folder on the SD card. They stay there until you delete them.

Camera images go on the card in the DCIM folder.

Re: microSD card questions

Yeah, Google idiotically didn't make a file browser for their OS.
But a good one and favorite of mine would be Astro File Manager

Thanks! is there a particular free file explorer/manager you like! I like to try the free ones first.....

Interesting that mail attachments are saved to the SD card - in WM6 (my former mobile OS) because many email attachments don't need to be saved, you at least can make that save choice or not.

Thanks again, Jack

Look at post above yours, also there is Linda File Manager which I personally use, ES File Explorer is also good, and they're all free too

+1 these are ok too, (not a fan of ES File Explorer but it works nonetheless)
Linda is good though
