i use wifi all the time. once you enable wifi, the sprint net auto disconnects.

Thanks all, I rooted and flashed Fresh Rom and I can now use beautiful widgets to go in to airplane mode and enable wifi. Thanks again.

Also go to wifi settings and press menu. Then go to advanced and from there you can turn wifi to never sleep. Saves some trouble and keeps a download going!
