I have a wifi widget and it grays out when I put the phone in to airplane mode. For some reason, airplane mode shuts the entire radio off and does not allow any connections. On my TP2, I did this without any problems at all. Why can't we figure out this out with the Hero? It's driving me nuts.

Well as I've said, I'm currently using the fresh ROM, I'm using the phone with only WIFI on and the phone in airplane mode, I do this so people don't bug me at times when I'm not in a good mood lol, but look I'm not sure which widget you have for that but if you can afford the money for the "beutiful widgets" I think you should, cheap cost but, trigger the phone into airplane mode and then turn it on with the beautiful widget wifi, it works each single time for me, can anyone confirm this? I know someone must have beautiful widgets in here except me. are you guys on stock? btw I should be posting this on you're thread as this OP found there answer :D

Sweet thanks. I am on the stock Rom an am also curious to know if the solution is Rom specific or widget specific.

Just spent the big bucks for beautiful widgets and no go on the stock Rom. WiFi disabled still in airplane mode. There must be a tweak out there that the customs have.

I think that might be it, because you are on stock, by the way, you can just ask for the refund for the application if you'd like, I'm going to assume it is because you guys are on stock overall, why not root you're device? not so hard at all. I'm not trying to convert you though, just saying =p

I do plan on rooting it, I just haven't had a chance yet. I kind of want to wait for the official 2.1 update too. I might root it tomorrow and just not flash a custom Rom yet. I ran my last 3 phones unlocked with custom Roms.

I think you'll be much happier with the custom roms! I can't imagine waiting on Sprint or any other company for the software updates. It's amazing how much better the custom roms are!

I flashed my TP2 and then the TP2 update came out. What a bunch of crap. Was a complete downgrade. Custom is the only way to go!
