Phone Contacts not syncing with Gmail account

Strange thing my Hero starting doing, all of a sudden my Phone contacts are not showing up in my Gmail Contact list. When I log into Gmail on the pc and select all contacts it only shows the ones in the Hero that are set as Google type contacts and not the Phone contacts. Anybody else experiencing this? I was under the impression that when add a contact to the phone or in your Gmail account they sync with each other.

The "phone" option is there specifically so the contact does NOT sync with google's servers. Think of phone as "local" and google as "cloud"

how to change what? In Gmail you should have a 'My Contacts' under Contacts. I've added all the contacts I do want to sync to this list. Otherwise it would sync every single contact I have (300+) So when you add a contact on your phone it will automatically sync to 'My Contacts' and vice versa.

In phone if it says phone contact it will not go 2 google. can't figure out how 2 fix that.

this isnt the easiest solution but the only one i can think of...

when u put in a contact it asks if u want phone or google. so the ones that dont sync, delete and re-enter.

when i first put contacts from someones old phone into their new google phone using my cellbrite it defaults as google contacts so you could go to a store and ask them to do that for you.

Or go to your google account online and add them there.

Or export your contacts as a csv and reload them all as google contacts.

That would defeat the purpose because I could just write them down and re enter them then. My Genie does it too, but it isn't for me.

I just put it on an exchange server with google and they all changed.
