Stock rom works fine for me. For me, I'd say no. Not worth it since it does everything I want it to.

And by the amount of difficulty you are having with the step-by-step rooting guides... I think it's pretty safe to say that it isn't worth it for you either.

fluup i was skeptical about rooting too,,,,
my hero was working just fine but now is perfect...
i was devating between hero or moment

fluuup have you ever messed with a WinMo phone before or are you just a casual user. My sig's tutorial is REALLLLY easy, especially if you have experience with Windows Mobile flashing, it's kinda similar.

why not just use the auto root method in the fresh kitchen.. takes all of a few minutes and none of the hassle..lol

I got my replacement hero wensday.. had it rooted and installed fresh2.0d in like 30 minutes flat..without a single issue..

the kitchen method by far is the quickest way to root.. try it out..

Actually, I just tried it right now out of curiosity. Youtube works fine with my stock unrooted Hero.

Dunno. Hero works perfectly for me "as is". There really isn't anything more that I'd ask of it... except maybe a bigger screen, WVGA resolution, a snapdragon, and 4G. But, I don't think any of the current roms add any of those features.

Dunno. Hero works perfectly for me "as is". There really isn't anything more that I'd ask of it... except maybe a bigger screen, WVGA resolution, a snapdragon, and 4G. But, I don't think any of the current roms add any of those features.
