HTC Calendar force closes

I'm having some troubles with my htc calendar. i like the looks of the widget so i would like to keep it but the calendar itself has some issues i guess. i get messages randomly through the day telling me that my calendar is force closing even when i'm not using it. also i cannot seem to sync my google calendar to it. i have tried other widgets like calwidget and the google events show up on there but once i open my calendar they arent listed. sometimes the dates will show an appointment on them but when i open up the details there will be nothing. any ideas??
