Re: Sudden huge battery loss while in sleep mode.
Mine dropped drastically too one day. Just had it in my case on my hip, and I felt it getting warm, took it out, and the battery was drained almost all the way. Level dropped from 65% to less than 10% inside of two hours. I just turned off the phone, restarted it, and plugged it in to charge. Hasn't happened since, so I chalked it up to roaming issues. Maybe a cell tower was down at the time and it couldn't do anything but roam.

Sometimes rogue apps drain your battery in the background. A fresh boot usually takes care of it.

Re: Sudden huge battery loss while in sleep mode.
Actually, I don't have any rogue apps on my phone. Only I installed on it was Zedge, AIM, and MSN Droid. But, the last two are never signed in, so I ensure they're exited fully.

Re: Sudden huge battery loss while in sleep mode.
I think he just means that it could be any app, stock, or user installed, that simply is not working properly, or is running when it isn't supposed to be running... aka rogue app.

Re: Sudden huge battery loss while in sleep mode.
I'm bumping this because I'm hoping for a few other answers. This morning, my phone dropped down to 60% within a 7-hour time frame of being in sleep mode. I know it's not roaming because it is in a position that gets about 4 bars. AFAIK, there's no rogue app causing this and all my push and sync notifications are disabled. I've rebooted the phone but it seems to happen a bit too constantly.
Would my only recommended option be to reset the phone and start over again with rooting it and such? Or, should I go about removing some of the extra apps I downloaded? |
