Favorite Contacts for Hero

On 2.1 you can set a person shortcut as a quick contact, when you touch it, a small drop down appears and you can pick whether to call or text or email. This is helpful when trying to text a favorite person, I find it much more convenient.

I didn't like the favorites widget because anytime I wanted to text someone I had to open the people tab...although if you can touch the name of the person on the tab it will bring up the contact card for that person, I however have sausage fingers and it was ridiculously hard to do.
