Re: dust under the lcd?....my story!

Not that I know what I'm talking about cause I don't have a Hero but I'll add my .02 cents anyways.

I did have a HTC Touch Pro, 3 to be exact. Keyboard stopped working on the first 2. Each device had this issue. I had a screen protector on all of them. People should be taking this issue to HTC, not Sprint. They are the one's manufacturing these POS's. It's why I probably won't ever buy another HTC phone. Seems like they have very little quality control.

It's always something with their phones (hardware wise). Sucks that you pay so much for your phone and it turns out to be defective. Then you have to waste more time replacing the thing which hurts Sprint and end users down the road because so many people need a replacement.

I've had my moment for almost a year. Rock solid hardware wise. No dust under my screen, no issues with the screen or keyboard. Granted, there will always be a few defects but at what point does it stop becoming an irritation and become a full blown problem?

I think the keyboard issues they had with the Mogul and TP are the reasons they now primarily manufacture candy bar only, keyboardless phones. But, while I don't go into the TP2 forums often, I don't hear much about keyboard issues when people talk about getting rid of their TP2, for either a Hero, or an Evo. The only real gripe I hear is they are tired of WinMo. And it looks like Android will be getting a TP2-esque phone, with a very similar keyboard. HTC struck gold with the TP2 keyboard, and it looks like they know it, too.

i've seen very few companies, mobile or not, with a quality standard as high as htc's. one bad model does not reflect many years of phenomenal devices.

I've had a Mogul, Diamond, & now a Hero. All were purchased new & never had trouble with any of them.

I think mobile companies are perfecting the quality so it deteriorates right before your contract ends so you have to get another phone. That's my conspiracy theory

But it's not just the TP though, is it? People are seeing this issue on the Hero..I've heard numerous people complain about other HTC devices as well. But as you said, a few bad phones/models may not outweigh all the good ones.
