text count showing 1 with no new texts

im having issues with an unread text count, even though there are no new texts.

i have the sms popup installed. i get a txt and it pops up, shows the notification on the msg icon and also in the taskbar. however, when i read the text, the icon is gone from the taskbar, but still showing an unread text on the message icon. cannot get it to go away.

anybody have this issue or know how to fix it?

well i deleted the text...even though it was read, and that seemed to have fixed it. not sure why it was still showing i had an unread text even though i read it.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I have the same problem and it is driving me nuts. When I delete all the texts, it shows zero new text messages. But when I receive a text and read it, the home page (sense) still shows that I have 1 new message. If I actually get a new message, then the counter goes up to 2 and when I read that, it goes back down to 1, not 0. I made sure to read the text in both HTC messaging and WM messaging but it doesn't matter.

I upgraded to the stock Sprint 6.5 rom the night it came out and everything's been working until now.

God I remember my old Touch Pro did this (and still does if I boot it up right now). Never found a cure.

A full wipe is all I could fathom

Maybe use PPCBackup and backup your messages then reimport them and replace the current ones.

I am actually having this problem with gmail. I am using gmail unready count and it is showing that I have one email still. I am running Fresh 2.0d and it didnt start to happen till a few days ago and its really annoying.

In gmail it usually IS atleast in my case that I do indeed have 1,2,3 or 6 unread messages. But I can't see them because I selected to only show messages from the past 4 days... If I select show all and then I scroll past the 4 day cutoff I will come across some unread messages. You can always get on your pc and mark them all read and then resync your gmail mailbox on the hero.
