Earpiece volume extremely loud

How is the volume on your hero when in a call? I have mine on the lowest possible setting, and I have to hold my phone about 3-4 inches away from my ear, so I'm not hurting my ear drum. I didn't see an "In Call volume" setting anywhere, so I'm guessing the only place to set the volume is while in a call, correct?

Is there a way to lower the volume, through a hack/tweak, the opposite of what some did on the original touch pros?

Download Volume Control from the Market. It allows you to adjust all volumes in one screen.

Re: Earpiece volume extremely loud

Question for you tokuzumi, has this always been the case? Because I swear the volume of my earpiece went up a lot within the last couple weeks. I have found myself trying to turn calls down and its at the lowest setting. Android has a audiopara.csv file like the Touch Pro has, but I haven't messed with it yet.

Did you mess with it in the Touch Pro. Lets rip it out and see what we can do. I have never edited one but I am willing to help.

It seems to be more pronounced recently.

I'm non-rooted, stock phone, by the way.

It may not matter, but which Volume Control? There's one by Trystania, RevoSolutionary Development, and New.

Here's a little help to get you started:
Copied from row 75 column H down to row 80. Row H is in hex so I converted it to decimal form for you to show you how they get progressively larger (louder). So you'll need to convert some decimal numbers back to hex and then replace them. Maybe start with 40000 in vol 5 and see how that goes. As for why vol 0, 1, and 2 are the same? I couldn't tell you. Trial and error my friends! If there is enough demand for this I could figure it out and put it in to fresh rom but I've got 10 other projects going on right now so people would have to want it. heh.

Code:
PHONE_HEADSET_VOL0 390a (14602)
PHONE_HEADSET_VOL1 390a (14602)
PHONE_HEADSET_VOL2 390a (14602)
PHONE_HEADSET_VOL3 47CF (18383)
PHONE_HEADSET_VOL4 656E (28526)
PHONE_HEADSET_VOL5 8F47 (36679)
*I'm not responsible for you blowing out your speaker.

I opened the audiopara in google docs, have the exact same settings.

I may try tweaking the VOL0-3 cells. Now that look at it that '2d4e' looks out of place, unless I pressed a key by mistake.

But tokuzumi is running stock non rooted so if somehow the audiopara changed, how the heck did it happen?

Not sure if flipzmode posted the stock audiopara in that post, mine is from Gumbo's.

Re: Earpiece volume extremely loud

His should be from his rom but I'm not sure. I can try tweaking later.
